1. Who we are

We are The Craft & Current Club, a creative social club and sewing studio based in Whitehouse, Milton Keynes. We host craft socials, sewing socials and sewing workshops. You can contact us at bolly@thecraftandcurrent.club.

2. What information we collect

When you book an event or workshop, we collect:

  • Name: to identify you and manage the guest list.
  • Email address: to send your booking confirmation, calendar invite and any important updates about your event.
  • Billing address: needed by our payment provider to process and verify your payment.
  • Phone number (optional): only used if we need to reach you about your booking.
  • Order notes (optional): anything you choose to tell us when you book, such as allergies, dietary or access needs.

Payment details (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna or Clearpay) are entered directly with our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.

If you join our newsletter, we collect your name and email address so we can tell you about new dates and workshops.

When you use our website, we collect anonymous information about how the site is used through Google Analytics, if you allow analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

3. Why we need it and how we use it

  • To run your booking (contract): we use your name, email, billing details and order notes to take your booking, send your confirmation and run the event.
  • To keep proper records (legal obligation): we keep records of payments and bookings as required by UK tax law.
  • To keep payments safe (legitimate interests): our payment provider uses your payment details, device and IP address to check for fraud.
  • To keep you updated (consent): we only send newsletters if you have signed up, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Health information (explicit consent): if you tell us about allergies or access needs, we only use it to keep you safe and comfortable at the event.

4. How we store and share your data

  • Bookings: stored securely on our website (WooCommerce), which is hosted by SiteGround.
  • Payments: processed by WooPayments, powered by Stripe. If you choose Klarna or Clearpay, your payment is handled by them under their own privacy policies.
  • Emails: booking emails are sent through our email provider (SiteGround), and newsletters through MailPoet.
  • We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it:

  • Booking and payment records: 6 years, as required for UK tax purposes.
  • Allergy, dietary or access information: deleted once your event is over.
  • Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe.

5. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Ask us what data we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct or delete your data (we may need to keep booking and payment records for tax purposes).
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from the newsletter.
